Two-piece systems only fit when the flange size on the pouch matches the flange size on the skin barrier. Hollister Conform 2 uses 45, 55 and 70 mm; HDL-Hendry uses 50, 60 and 70 mm. The two ranges are not interchangeable.

How this product is used

Empty when the pouch is about a third full rather than waiting — a heavy pouch pulls on the barrier edge and is the most common reason a wafer fails early. Rinse if you wish, dry the tail, then roll and lock the closure.

Beige and transparent are the same pouch in a different film. Many patients use transparent in the first weeks after surgery, when they and their nurse want to see the stoma and the output, then move to beige for everyday wear.

If output is loose and emptying is slow or messy, a lubricating deodorant inside the pouch makes a noticeable difference: it coats the film so output slides down and rinses out instead of clinging.

When should I empty a drainable pouch?

At around a third full. Letting it fill puts weight on the barrier edge and is one of the most common causes of early leaks.

Beige or transparent?

The same pouch in a different film. Transparent helps in the early weeks when the stoma and output are being monitored; beige is more discreet for everyday wear.

Do I still need a clip?

No. The lock-and-roll closure is part of the pouch, so there is no separate clip to lose or to press against the skin.
